Dr. Christine Condaris

Christine Condaris is Professor of Music and former Chair of the Department of Fine & Performing Arts. She has had a wide range of experience in her 4+ decades career as a pianist, choral conductor, educator and administrator. Highlights include co-founding the Northern Berkshire Creative Arts, a not for profit education organization and the North Adams New Music Consort, an ensemble dedicated to the works of indeterminate instrumentation. Professor Condaris has served as guest editor for an arts and medicine edition of the International Journal of User Driven Healthcare, and reviewed for MultiCultural Journal and Notes, the Quarterly Journal of the Music Library Association.

Professor Condaris has lectured around the world including at Hebei University in China and most recently at the International Society for Music Education Conference in Prague and the Institute for Education and Research in Athens, Greece. Of Greek descent, her most recent project is creating a digital exhibition of the artifacts of Dafni, a small village in the Laconia region of the Peloponnese peninsula.  In addition to receiving the 2020 Best Professor of the Berkshires Award, she is also the 2018 recipient of the Berkshire Magazine 25: Most Dedicated, Most Creative, Most Influential Award. A former trustee for the Elizabeth Freeman Center, a not for profit that provides leadership and services to address domestic and sexual violence in Berkshire County, Professor Condaris served as President of the Board of Trustees for the Berkshire Music School, she is a new Trustee of the Berkshire Opera Festival.
