Mailroom

The Mailroom is located in Venable Hall. Every matriculated student is assigned a mail box number for the duration of his/her stay at MCLA. The College uses the mailboxes as a primary way of distributing information to students.  Students are expected to pick up their own mail regularly. The Mailroom lobby is open 7 days a week.  Lobby hours are Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Weekends: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The office is staffed Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.  to 4:45 p.m.

The proper form to use to address a letter or package to a student follows below:

Full Name
MCLA, Unit #
375 Church Street
North Adams, MA 01247-4100

There is no need to put the student's residence hall or room number on the package. Be sure you copy the unit number accurately. The unit number is the mailbox number assigned to you by the College. Please be sure to use the unit number when setting up any type of billable service.

Packages are received throughout the day and package notices are placed in mailboxes.  Students must come to the window with his/her valid student ID and the package slip in order to receive the package. DHL, UPS, Federal Express and U.S. Mail is delivered to the Mailroom unless you address it to an off-campus address. Do not say "Box Number" or "P.O. Box Number," only unit number, when ordering anything to be shipped to you by UPS, or Federal Express, as they do not deliver to U.S. Post Offices.  Student Overnight Mail is treated the same as a package and requires a student to sign for it and present his/her student ID. We strongly recommend that you do not have overnight mail sent to you on Friday since we do not staff the Mailroom on weekends.  Students will not be able to receive the overnight mail.

The Mailroom is monitored 24 hours per day by security cameras. It is handicapped accessible and centrally located on campus. We urge off-campus students to use the Mailroom as their local address since it is permanently assigned and will not change from semester to semester.

It is the student's responsibility to check his/her mailbox on a frequent and regular basis. All campus correspondence is routed through the Mailroom. Please do not send cash through the mail.
