MCLA’s MOSAIC invites local artists to submit proposals for rotating window installations in the storefront windows at 49 Main Street, North Adams. This initiative aims to enliven Main Street by transforming these windows into creative, publicly accessible art spaces visible 24/7. Selected artists will have one week to install their work, which will remain on view for four weeks, followed by one week to deinstall. Artists are responsible for providing all materials and labor for installation and deinstallation. There is a $250 stipend for selected artists. MOSAIC will supply project signage and promote each installation through social media.

Timeline 

  • Submission Deadline: End of day September 20, 2026                                                                               
  • Artist Notification: September 30, 2026 

Installation cycles 

  • Install: Week of Dec 14 | Deinstall: Week of Jan 18
  • Install: Week of Jan 25 | Deinstall: Week of March 1
  • Install: Week of March 8 | Deinstall: Week of April 12
  • Install: Week of April 19 | Deinstall: Week of May 24
  • Install: Week of May 31 | Deinstall: Week of July 5

Proposal Requirements 

Submit a single PDF to mosaic@mcla.edu including:

  1. Contact information: mailing address, phone number, and email 
  2. Installation proposal (up to 500 words) 
  3. Five images of previous or related work 
  4. Resume 
  5. Availability indicating which installation/deinstallation cycles you would be able to commit to
