About Me

With extensive regional and statewide connections, students incorporate strategic questioning and meet industry experts and business owners that connect course materials with real life application.

Back in high school, Amy competed on the Mount Greylock field hockey and ski team and went on for one year to play college field hockey. Amy encourages all students to pursue their interests and sports and is a mentor to the men's ice hockey team. On the side, you can find her swimming across the lake, skiing on a sunny day, and absorbed with a variety of DYI and creative projects.

Description of Special Projects/Activities

Prior to coming to MCLA, for 21 years Amy was employed as the Business Development Director for the Franklin County Community Development Corporation. Activities focused on community economic development in western MA from assisting small business owners to start, stabilize, grow, and obtain financing and supporting business associations in strategic planning. In addition, administrating programs, grant writing, and program evaluation. Entrepreneurship came naturally growing up in a family automobile dealership in North Adams and co-owner of a ceramic manufacturing wholesale and retail business.

Activities include statewide collaborator and trainer for business assistance practitioners. In addition, a 2019 & 2022 Professional Fellows Program with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Morocco civic engagement program. Board member for Woodland Partnership of Northwest MA. Steering Committee member of the ArtsHubma.com an online platform for the creative sector. Advisory member for Mel King Institute. Recipient of the Massachusetts Association of CDC’s 2014 Richard Smith Award for outstanding work on behalf of the Franklin County CDC and Leadership in the Community Development Movement.
