MCLA provided emergency funding for students who were economically impacted by COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the CARES Act and CRRSAA relief funds, and ARP, institutions of higher education could request funding to be disbursed to students who had needs based on the results of COVID-19 pandemic.

Monies were distributed in the form of grants; students did not have to pay them back.

Current undergraduate or graduate students who were enrolled at MCLA during the COVID-19 pandemic were able to apply for emergency funding.

Funding did not impact federal or state aid.

Priority in funding was given to those with the highest financial need.

As of the ending quarter 6/30/2023, the total amount of Student Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to MCLA students under Section 18004(a)(1) Student Portion, totaled $3,293,941.
